The head of state firstly met with the university’s President Liu Wei.

Opening the ceremony, Vice-President of the university Yi Zhihong said that the meeting is an important event in the history of the university.
University’s President Liu Wei, speaking about the history of relations between China and Azerbaijan, expressed his sense of honor for presenting the Diploma of Professor Emeritus of History to the Azerbaijani president.
Then the Diploma of Professor Emeritus of History was presented to the Azerbaijani president.
President Ilham Aliyev made a speech at the meeting.
President Ilham Aliyev said extensive there is extensive care to the development of education in Azerbaijan, adding that relevant programs are being implemented and that the literacy rate is close to 100%. The head of state also noted that Azerbaijan is a peace supporter in the region and is combating terrorism and extremism. He added that the country has turned into a center of multiculturalism.
